I have a black, mid thigh length Betsey Johnson dress that has subtle fushia highlights (the bodice part is fushia with black mesh and sequins over it, so it's not that visible, and the hems on the layers of the skirt are fushia as well) and I'm at a loss for makeup! I'm not sure what I should do for eyes or lips.
Hii!! Here are some ideass C:
^A bit of eyeliner and pink eyeshadow on the bottom(feel free to change the eyeshadow to match the fuchsia part of your dress) will make your eyes really stand out. But make sure that you have a non-smudge-able eyeliner, otherwise this look can turn out really messy. For the lips, use a light pink lipstick, or lipgloss. :P
^The smokey eyes will really compliment your dress, as well as go with the textures of it. I would suggest using anything as long as it does not stand out. C:
Which brush is best to use to apply eye shadow? The one that it comes with or a different one?
I normally use a different brush instead of the one which came with the eyeshadow, because some companies develop special brushes sold in separate packages, while the companies which you got the eyeshadow from mainly focus more on the eyeshadow than the brush. I also noticed that the brushes which came with the eyeshadow tend to break much more easily than the other ones. C:
I would go for glittery, bright looks (Just make sure that if you are going to use glittery eyeshadow it wont fall down, since that can make your makeup look messy and unproffesional :P) Some ideas:
I m just giving you a general idea, since these will only work with certain dress types and dress colours C: Oh and by the way, just a warning: some of these looks might make you appear younger than you are (if you are below 25), so do use these with caution :P
Can you give a tutorial (or sugest one) for a baby blue eyeshadow technique for me to do for my prom tonight? my dress is on my tumblr in my most recent post if you are wondering what exact color :) That would be awesome
Hii! I found some tutorials for you which I think will look great with your dress! (Btw, I LOVE that colour :D) Tutorial number 1 (LINK) By QueenofBlendingMUA Tutorial number 2 (LINK) By MakeupByCheri
Hello! So I have this hot pink outfit with a navy blue contrast, it has silver embroidery like rhinestones/gems I was wondering what kind of eye makeup I should do?:)
Hii! Your dress has a lot of contrast between itself (hot pink/navy blue), so therefore i would not recommend having a lot of bright makeup. :)
Here are some ideas:
^A natural look, with a bit of eyeshadow and eyeliner will outline your eyes and at the same time your makeup won’t be too overpowering. I would suggest using a pale pink lipstick for this C:
^This will go with the colour scheme and will match the hot pink part of your dress. It is not too bright so it is okay to use this kind of design. Also, if you will be using pink eyeshadow, make sure that the powder does not fall below your eyes. Go for a beige lipstick with this look :P
he my dress is plain black and i added a blue color to it andd i need help with some makeup
I would suggest trying for black-blue smokey eye. Here are some more ideas:
^This will go well with your dress due to the matching colour scheme. I would suggest this look for a party, not extremely formal, and definitely not something on a day to day basis.
^Even though this design does not convey a lot of blue, i think it will still go well with your dress due to it having a grayish hue, which i think works with blue tones. Can use nearly any lipgloss/lipstick, as long as they are not extremely bright or neon.
It is currently 3:30 am and I have my IGCSE’s coming up on the 7th of May. I really do love answering you guys, but I am truly exhausted. :C I do have a queue right now though :). I will answer the rest of the asks tomorrow, in around 6-8 hours. Sorry again if this is inconvenient to you x
My prom is tomorrow night, I have a Lacey ivory dress and no pearls as accessories and I have no idea how to do my makeup! What looks would compliment the dress, and what kind of lip with said looks?
Some more ideas for eyes:
^This will go with the color scheme very well, as well as the texture, giving it a light, natural look. I would suggest using a shiny lipgloss of a lighter colour for this :)
^Using dark makeup (in this case, black eyeliner and black mascara) on a pale dress will always make your eyes stand out! In this case, I would not suggest applying eyeliner on the lower lash line. For the lips, you can use almost anything you want, from pink lipgloss to beige lipstick. C:
^This will go with the colour scheme and a natural look, enhancing your eyes and giving an overall professional look. Compared to the first one, this one has a darker shade on the top of the eye lid, giving it complex details. Tip: Apply some white eyeliner on the lower lash line, for a more complex look. :)
So I have prom tomorrow and my dress is a bright yellow with different streaks of purple, blue, orange, pink, red, black and turquoise in it. My accessories match the blue and turquoise in the dress so I'd like to use one of those colors in my makeup but I don't want it to be overpowering because my dress is loud. Just something simple. Any ideas?
IDEASSS :D :D :
^ I think this is perfect for a settle and formal look, because at the same time it is half natural and can emphasize your dress colours. The brown-pink-ish at the top make your eye appear sophisticated, while the eyeliner at the bottom sticks to the colour theme ^.^
^Another design which looks professional, and yet sticks to the colour theme. I would suggest using this if you do not have big eyes, since this design makes your eyes appear bigger. I would also suggest using a soft pink/transparent lipstick for this design.
^This is a third design which I think would go very well with your look, since it is mostly using one eyeshadow, this will prevent your look to appear overpowering.
'ello! So I have prom in a week - but I've only got today and tomorrow to prepare because I'm going to be out of town. I still don't know what to do with my makeup... Eek. My dress is blue, long, one strap, and has a silver accent on the belt (so silver accessories - whee. I think I have the only flipping color in the world which black accessories do not work with.) I have cool undertones and dark brown hair and eyes. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
Hii! Wheee more requests :D
Here are some ideas for your eyes:
^I think this will work amazingly well with your silver accessories. The glitter will add the “party” mood for your prom C: I would suggest a nude lipstick for it, not lipgloss, too much shine and glitter on your face might make it appear oily.
^Nearly the same design as above, but with less glitter, more pearly colours and eyeshadow underneath. The “pearly” colours will look absolutely amazing combined with your blue dress and silver accessories. I would not recommend applying eyeshadow beneath the eyes(as to what is shown in the picture above) if you have under eye circles, since it will only highlight them. You can try using lipgloss for this look :)
^ I think this makeup will also look good on you with your brown eyes, because the white glitter-esque eyeshadow will suit your silver jewelry. You can try creating a smokey-eye effect using blue-ish colours as outer shades, and the white for the inside. ^.^
Hope this helps and hope you have an amazing time at your prom
my dress is seafoam with jewles around it, i have no idea what kind of eye makeup to get done. helpa sista outtt ?! (-:
Here are some ideas :D :
^The aquamarine colour on the lower lash line highlights your eyes, while the bronze eyeshadow on top goes well with the jewels
^This kind of makeup really does focus on your eyes, and will work great enhancing them. Tip: if you have smaller eyes, do not put any eyeshadow or eyeliner underneath the eye.
^Another variation of the previous makeup, this time with a different colour scheme. :)
^ A more natural (compared to all the others) look, I would suggest having a “brink pink” coloured lipgloss/lipstick in order to get some contrast and make it seem more interesting. I would not recommend putting such a bright pink lipstick on the previous ideas, since that create the appearance of having too much makeup on. :)
^This is another look, for balls or something really formal. I think it will still work with your dress :P. Also, I would suggest using a really plain lipgloss/lipbalm/lipstick, so it is barely visible.
